8 Ultimate Superyachts

We bring you eight of the most exceptional superyachts worth placing on your wishlist, alongside traveling the world via Air Charter Service.

We asked a few superyacht specialists to give us a selection of some of their top offerings, highlighting their notable features.

“One particularly impressive superyacht is the 82m Alfa Nero, built by Oceanco. One of Alfa Nero’s standout features is her swimming pool, one of the largest ever built on a superyacht, which transforms into a helipad!”

Q: What makes this superyacht particularly accessible via helicopter, and how has this been integrated into its design?

“A superyacht will ideally need at least 16m of obstacle-free deck space in order to land a helicopter. This isn’t always the easiest feature to implement when considering other features such as hand rails, swimming pools, and the like. However, the superyacht industry is continually looking for new and innovative ways to attract people to purchase or charter a yacht. A great example of this is the superyacht described above, Alfa Nero. Here, the swimming pool floor is elevated to deck level using hydraulic rams, transforming it into a helipad.”

Q: What are some of the unique features?

“The swimming pool can also be transformed into a dance floor, depending on what the owner/guests wishes are and whether they own a private helicopter, in which case the helicopter would remain on board.”

Price: Alfa Nero certainly doesn’t come cheap for charter. Summer rates are around €850,000 per week, and in the winter, €750,000 per week. Superyachts will be available for sale and charter through one broker, and news will usually be announced by a superyacht media group such as Yachting Pages.

Q: What are some unique features of this superyacht?

“At first glance one can immediately spot the customised colour scheme inspired by the Gulf Oil racing cars. Her interiors are also inspired by the automotive theme and she features one master suite on the main deck and three guest cabins on the lower deck. The guests cabins are also styled after famous car brands!”

Q: Who designed this unique superyacht?

“Legend was originally constructed by IHC Verschure in the Netherlands and delivered in 1974. From 1998 to 2003, she was refitted from an Icebreaker to an exclusive yacht and then refitted again in 2007. Legend, previously named ‘Giant1’ entered a new era when she was completely rebuilt at ICON Yachts (Netherlands) into a luxury superyacht to conform with SOLAS Passenger Ship regulations. Her stern has been extended by 3.6m and has been equipped with a new swim platform, a pool and a certified helicopter platform. Additionally, Legend has been equipped with a completely new interior design, entertainment system and electronic system.”

Q: What are some unique features?

“The luxury explorer yacht, Legend, carries two large tenders (additional vessels) as well as various other tenders for different purposes and expeditions. Q: If you had a chartered jet/helicopter at your disposal, what superyacht would you recommend as a destination?

“Legend is a fantastic luxury superyacht well suited for adventure yacht charters and exploration of remote areas in supreme luxury. She is currently based in Northern Europe in Norway (June to September 2016), following which she will move to Antarctica (November 2016 to March 2017).”

Q: What are the main features?

“One of the most impressive features of the newly converted superyacht is its glass observation room, which provides panoramic views of the ever-changing cruising grounds that the yacht is set to explore. Vitruvius Yachts also had the task of converting the general arrangement to something more liveable, which entailed transforming the officer’s mess into the main salon, adding five spacious guest rooms on the main deck, and adding the owner’s full-beam suite featuring a spectacular skylight and panoramic windows. With the perfect combination of professional crew, speed, endurance and sublime comfort, Enigma XK introduces a new level of luxury and adventure to an expedition yacht, available for charter in Antarctica.”

Q: Any unique features to Enigma XK?

“The Enigma XK is one of the very few yachts designed to be a true expedition vessel. She has a professional crew that understands the unique demands of an expedition, a sturdy hull to punch through Antarctic ice flows and the range to explore far away from any supporting infrastructure.”

Price: Luxury expedition yacht charter prices start at €250,000 per week plus expenses.
